The Great Fire of London Afternoon
Last week, Ash class had visitors from Discover History to teach us all about The Great Fire of London. We learnt all about the houses at the time and that they were really close to each other. We also were told that the houses were made out of wooden frames and pegs. If they wanted to, they could move their houses to a different place!
Some children even had the opportunity to dress up as Samuel Pepys, Thomas Bloodworth, Thomas Farriner and King Charles II and we acted out the event. We also lined up to practice passing the wooden buckets from the River Thames all the way to the bakery to put out of the fire. We had a great day!
