Being a Church School
"May our children flourish in their youth like well-nurtured plants." Psalms 144
At Clent we spend the first week exploring spirituality and analysing our place in the world and seeing how we can make this world a better place and have a real joy for life. We do this through carefully selected texts chosen by the children and by spending time outdoors.
Our school definition of Spirituality - Spirituality is not something we can see; it’s something we can feel within. It is how we understand ourselves and our place in the world. It’s about asking questions, cherishing what is good and joyful and being aware that we are a part of something ‘bigger’.
Our RE Syllabus - As a Church of England school we deliver the Worcestershire Agreed Religious Education Syllabus together with Understanding Christianity (a national syllabus). Understanding Christianity is set out via this link: www.understandingchristianity.org.uk
Our RE curriculum not only covers Christianity, but includes the study of other religions and non-religious beliefs too. These include Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Sikhism and Humanism. Whilst we have a Christian Vision in our school we warmly welcome all faiths and communities, encouraging understanding, tolerance and inclusion and the following of our school values that are beneficial to all. We equip all of our pupils to approach faith and non-religious beliefs in an informed and theologically investigative way.
