At Clent Primary School we teach French creatively through singing, role play, art and French stories.

In Lower Key Stage 2 we cover French greetings and simple conversation including describing where we live, our name, how old we are and our hobbies. New vocabulary includes animals, body parts, family members, Christmas and Easter, alongside learning about France and some French traditions.

In Upper Key Stage 2, whilst revising our existing french knowledge, we start to form simple sentences and express preferences.

We have 'built' a street of shops using simple French conversation as shopkeepers, we have also set up a cafe - all helping to equip our pupils with a real context for the language  and hopefully an ability to use it confidently themselves if they go to France.
