At Clent Parochial Primary we are always ready to welcome new children into our family; if you would like to come and visit the school then get in contact and we will be happy to make you an appointment. If you have visited and would like to join us then please follow the instructions below about admissions; we are no longer able to accept admissions directly.

If you live in Worcestershire and your child is due to start school in Reception during the school year 2014/2015, then you must apply to Worcestershire County Council for your child / children’s school place.

Mid Year Transfer if you wish your child / children to join us during the school year then you can download the required CA1 application form from www.worcestershire.gov.uk/schooladmissions.

Parents of children resident outside of Worcestershire

If you wish to apply for a place at any Worcestershire school, you must complete an application provided by your “home” LA. (The “home” LA is defined as the Local Authority relevant to the child’s home address).  The “home” LA will ensure that the application details are passed onto Worcestershire LA for consideration in the allocation of school places. If you are not resident in Worcestershire, then you should obtain admission details from your home LA, even if your preferences include schools within Worcestershire.

The current Admissions and Transfers to Schools Information for Parents Book and the Starting School parental guide, Transfer to Middle School and Transfer to Secondary School parental guides will be available on the website www.worcestershire.gov.uk/schooladmissions

How do you apply?

  • Apply online at www.worcestershire.gov.uk/schooladmissions
  • You will be sent an email to acknowledge receipt of your submitted application.
  • Telephone School Admissions on 01905 822700 if you need assistance.

Clent Parochial Primary School Admissions Criteria

Where the number of children seeking admission to a County or Voluntary Controlled School is likely to exceed the published admission limit, preference will be given to:

a) Relevant ‘Looked after’ children.

b) Siblings (as defined by LA policy) of pupils attending the school and living within the catchment area of the school.

c) Pupils living within the catchment area of the school, which is within the Civil Parish of Clent.

d) Pupils living outside the catchment area but who would still have a sibling connection at school at the time of admission.

e) Pupils who have a significant reason for admission, such reasons, the validity of which will be determined by the Directorate of Education Services, will include medical, social or compassionate grounds. To be considered under this category it has to be shown that only this school can meet the medical, social or compassionate needs. Parents are required to produce a medical certificate or other appropriate information from an independent source. (Significant reason will not be considered unless supporting information is attached to your application form when submitted).

f) Attendance at a feeder school.

g) Pupils who live nearest to the school by the shortest available walking route.

For parents wishing to admit an older child to the school the above criteria will still apply.
