What does each Governor Team do?

Full Governor Board

Remit:

  • Provides a central point to scrutinise and approve all of the work and decisions made at each individual committee.
  • Provides a forum for all Governors to receive and understand communications/ new initiatives that impact on the school across the board.

Objectives – September 2016- July 2017

  • Achieve Outstanding or Good Ofsted rating.
  • Ensure all Committee Teams are appraised.
  • Ensure school makes progress towards MAT choice (s) and recommendations.
  • Ensure school Vision and Mission statements are clarified and communicated to all stakeholders.
  • Drive greater collaboration with Pyramid primaries at Governor/Head Teacher/ Teacher/Pupil/Parent Level.
  • Increase use of Digital Technology/Innovation in all aspects of school operation.

Finance Committee

Remit:

  • To ensure good financial health of the school.
  • To ensure school achieves excellent value for money in bought in services.
  • Ensure profitably and accountability of the finance function.

Objectives – September 2016- July 2017

  •  Agree an induction checklist for new members of the Committee.
  •  Prepare and agree School’s ‘3 Year Strategic Financial Plan’.

Personnel Committee

Remit:

  • To provide support and challenge the Head in the structure, management and core of all school staff.
  • To set Head Teacher objectives and hold regular reviews.
  • To provide support to the Head in the area of new staff recruitment.
  • Provide pastoral support with Head as appropriate.
  • To ensure Governors are aware of their duties and responsibilities.

Objectives – September 2016- July 2017

  • To complete Governor Induction process.
  • To undertake a training review to include: training budget management and record keeping.
