Important School Closure Information - 5th January 2021
It is with regret that I am writing to inform you that, following discussion with the chair of the governing body, Clent will only be open to children of critical workers and vulnerable pupils starting tomorrow, Tuesday 5th January. This follows on from the government announcement this evening.
The places previously allocated in March last year will apply for critical workers and school will contact parents of vulnerable pupils by telephone tomorrow in relation to their future attendance. We will use our existing lists compiled following the first national lockdown to identify children who should be in school, and will presume that, if your son/daughter attended school during that time, then they will be attending starting 5 January 2021.
Please note that in order to ensure that the places for children of critical workers are provided fairly to those who most need them, we ask that you provide evidence confirming your role. This can be in the form of a lanyard, a letter from your employer or similar documentation.
In addition, breakfast club will not be open tomorrow. Further details will follow.
Should you need to discuss your son/daughter’s place please contact the school at email@example.com and we will telephone you. We anticipate sending out the revised link for the definition of critical worker as soon as it is updated.
Future learning for all other groups will be via the SeeSaw app which we put in place last term. Your child has a login for this.
I am aware that this is going to cause disruption for many of our families and whilst this is something I was keen to avoid, the above decision is based on the national picture and lockdown restrictions. The situation and guidance nationally may change over the next few weeks. I will keep the situation under review and keep you apprised of developments.
Please look after yourselves and your families.
